My publishing imprint, Corazon Books, has published over sixty titles, many of which have been bestsellers on Amazon. Recent successes include a number 1 bestseller in Australia, a top 10 in the UK, and numerous number 1 titles in categories such as biographical fiction, romantic suspense, family saga, humour, romantic comedy, contemporary romance, nursing and medical fiction. I also run ebook workshops for authors, and am a regular speaker at writing conferences, universities and for the Society of Authors.
In 2010, I founded National Short Story Week, which aims to get more people writing, reading and listening to short stories. Each November, National Short Story Week is celebrated by libraries and schools, publishers, reading and writing organisations, and individual writers, readers and listeners around the UK.
In 2014, I edited The Mistake, an anthology of short stories by UK schoolchildren who had entered the National Short Story Week Young Writer competition. The anthology reached number 51 in the Amazon charts, with all royalties going to Teenage Cancer Trust.
For many years I produced audio for writers and publishers, and more recently I set up a pilot project for audio stories at The Story Player.
I’ve worked with words my whole career – as a writer, translator, interviewer, producer and voice over artist. I frequently collaborate with writers, publishers, actors and professionals working in schools, libraries and the media.
During the past two and a half decades I’ve worked on projects involving a wide variety of people from first-time novelists to household names from television, radio and film.
